When it comes to skin care, exercise can play a vital role in keeping your face clear of acne. Some people might be tempted to avoid exercise for fear of getting all sweaty. But the truth is, any type of exercise can help your body to function at normal levels, thereby regulating your body chemistry and ridding your body of toxins. If you are worried about the affects of sweat on the skin, just make sure to wash well after each workout. Never let your sweat dry and use a soft gentle cleanser and you should be fine. Keeping the sweat glands active actually helps to keep your face by getting bogged down by dirt and oil. And as always, if you choose to exercise in the outdoors, make sure you are wearing ample sun screen on exposed areas on the body. As long as you take precautions and wash your face after, you can enjoy all types of exercise that will keep your body healthy.
Look here for advice on how to get rid of acne.
Here are a few suggestions that definitely won’t make your skin worse:
1. Walking. Walking is the perfect low impact exercise that allows you to keep your body active and healthy. Even a twenty minute walk once a day will go a long way towards burning a few calories each day. There are many ways to incorporate walking into your daily routine without having to take out too much time out of your daily schedule. You can take out the garbage, walk to work, or take the stairs instead of the elevator. Every little bit helps and it all adds up in the end.
2. Swimming. Swimming gives you a great body workout and its fun to boot. Whether you tread softly in a pool or go all out and swim laps, anything you do in a pool is a good way to stay active. Just make sure to take care of your skin afterwards because chlorine can cause drying in the skin if you aren’t careful. And always make sure to wear waterproof sunscreen – just because you are in the water doesn’t mean you are safe from the sun. In fact, the glare makes you more susceptible to exposure.
3. Cycling. Hopping on a bike with a friend is a great way to explore your city while relieving stress. It also gives you a chance to build those lower body muscles. The best thing is you can go at your own pace to determine exactly how hard or easy you want your workout to be. For a bigger challenge try some of your local mountain biking trails and make a whole day of it.
4. Tennis. Tennis gives you a great full body workout that exercises your arms, legs, and gives you a cardio workout to boot. You don’t even have to know how to play to enjoy tennis for the first time. Beginners can take it easy by playing from half-court. And if you’re a tennis pro, a good game with a friend can give you more than an hour of solid exercise.
5. Throw a Frisbee. Throwing a Frisbee makes for a nice light workout that is also fun. You can do this anywhere from your own back yard, to the park, to the beach. For a bigger workout get some friends together and put together a game of ultimate.
The type of exercise you choose is only limited by your imagination. If you haven’t worked out in a long time, always remember to stretch adequately beforehand. And keep yourself hydrated at all times. When you get home have some more water, and remember to wash properly. If you need motivation you can always invite a friend to work out with you, or load some songs onto your iPod and let the music keep you going. A good routine of various exercises will have you feeling better and help with your overall health.
